Movie original title in Russian?

Server Version#: 1.43.0.10467

I found this by chance the other day:

Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace where the Original title is in Russian

Звездные войны. Буря в стакане.

I don’t know where that comes from. I have a couple of other movies where Original title is in Russian because they are Russian but certainly not this one.

This is a mkv file (not an MP4 with tags in it).

In the movie settings I have:

  • Metadata language: Library default
  • Use original titles: Library default

Setting the field blank without locking it, saving and refreshing metadata puts the Russian title back.

I don’t know is this could be the cause - probably not - but this movie has two TVDB Guids

<Guid id="imdb://tt0120915"/>
<Guid id="tmdb://1893"/>
<Guid id="tvdb://134347"/>
<Guid id="tvdb://334"/>

Not a show stopper. I can always remove the Original title and lock the field but thought this was a strange case.

Is your library language set to English (UK) by chance?

No. Just “English”

For what it’s worth, I see the same in my library for this movie. The library language is also set to English in my case.

Probably everybody with the same movie and same settings have this Russian title.

Wonder where it comes from.

TMDB has this as one of the Russian titles but as Alternative title.

Its coming from Звездные войны. Буря в стакане - TheTVDB.com as the original language of this movie is russian and the id is dup’ed with the phantom menace movie.

I reported this YEARS ago and I still laugh every time I check for dup ids and see it still listed :slight_smile: I just gave up, locked the original title and moved on.

LOL

I guess I’ll do that too. Remove the Original title, lock the field and move on :+1:
