Server Version#: 1.24.2.4973
Player Version#: 4.62.1
It seems, when updating to this current version, that I have far too many movies, which were already in my collection and showing the correct movie poster, are now showing a default scene from said movie. All I did was apply the latest update. When I go into the pencil on each, navigate to “Posters”, there are plenty to choose from that aren’t the default movie scene. There are FAR too many for me to manually go through and re-select the movie posters. What could have happened in this release to cause this?
Is this known, and are they working on a fix for it, as its rather annoying. Thanks!
I’ve had this happen occasionally when adding a new movie or TV show and just assumed it was because the server was busy doing something or a connection hiccup at the time I added the media file; all the metadata is pulled, it just misses applying the poster for some reason. I hadn’t seen it after a server update and not to existing movies\shows that already had posters selected though. I do have to manually fix it in that case as “refresh metadata” doesn’t seem to do it. A fix match does work too.
If it happened to you recently maybe a log upload might help see if there are any errors during that update?
I don’t know if running optimize database and clean bundles would help in this case but might not hurt either (I do that sometimes when things get wonky).
If it have it happen again to me over the next few days I’ll post up some logs - I’d be curious about this as well.
Okay… so I had it happen again today and grabbed some logs right after the fact and some screenshots so maybe that’ll help.
I added “Cry Macho” and this is how it looks in my library just moments after matching (the only thing running is generating thumbnails):
This is the occasional hiccup with posters I experience. Everything loads but the poster. I’ve had situations where I’ve added one movie, it does this “missed the poster” thing and then added another right after and it grabs the poster no problem. It’s very random and not typical so hard to pin down.
Here are my logs from right after it happened in case it helps … I’m still trying to learn how to dig into these logs myself so any help would be appreciated. Plex Media Server Logs_2021-09-19_11-53-32.zip (3.8 MB)
If this is better as it’s own thread I’ll do that if no traction comes from this one.
Edit: Oh, this is on Synology DSM 7 Version 1.24.3.5033 but it was happening on DSM6 and a few versions ago too. Also, I haven’t seen this happen with TV Show library, just movie library.
did you get any resolve with this? I’m having the SAME EXACT issue!
Sorry, I forgot to update.
I ended up doing a full metadata refresh and that seemed to work.
