I recently upgraded my Synology from DS216play to DS918+. The migration went well and I reinstalled Plex over the old installation (v1.13.3.5223). Everything looked ok, until I added some new movies when I discovered the posters were not downloading for the new items. I tried a few things, like deleting the caches and running “Refresh All Metadata” on the “Movie” library (based on other threads I saw about this), but it didn’t seem to help. I figured I would start over completely, so uninstalled and deleted all of the files under “Plex/Library”, reinstalled, but ran into the same issue once the Movies directory was parsed!
Also, the “TV Shows” and “Music” poster and metadata is perfectly fine.
I think I did the Plex Dance ok, but it didn’t seem to help… I did end up deleting the newly added media just in case that was it, as part of the dance, but like I said, no change in the library.
When I moved over to the new NAS, I did enable the firewall, which I thought was on before and was lost in the transfer, but it must not have been active before the migration since that was the issue.
With that said, I disabled it and tried the Dance again with no success, so I simply reinstalled again, and it everything worked as expected on the new installation.
I do still have a question about the Dance though… What is the “Update Library” step exactly? Everything other step seemed straight forward but I see no “Update Library” option anywhere.
