Thanks again. Ok, I know it’s not a filename issues because even existing movies that were previously auto populated with metadata and poster if I hit refresh metadata the posters disappear. Attached is the IMDB log for metadata refresh on 10 things I hate about you, a movie that did have a poster until I refreshed. I don’t see anything amiss? I can manually specify poster images and they are saved and displayed properly.
I checked the database, no issues, repaired anyway, no improvement. I tried restoring the database too but either I can’t go back far enough or it’s not the database that’s the problem.
Looks like those steps helped somewhat and/or a reset of permissions on the while application data directory. Now the agent is in fact downloading art and posters to the metadata\movies\x\xxx.bundle\com.plexapp.agents.imdb folder. It does not populate the art into _combined though nor does it display the images in the app UI, either by default or via the poster\art selection screen. There are a still a bunch of weird blank images though, just like in the first screenshot I posted.
Thanks. I know I have like 5000 files that Plex doesn’t properly recognize and likely some that it never will. I don’t understand how this is related to my issue though as the ~900 movies that Plex recognized and downloaded posters for last month will no longer display posters that it has downloaded for them if i refresh their metadata. It;s also not about the matching or the downloading of the metadata as I can see all that is happening as it should be (at least when file naming permits).
