Movie (Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City) missing from PLEX Movie Agent?

Hi

I wanted to add the movie Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City to PLEX but PLEX agent does not find metadata for it.

So I tried a manual match

I typed in “Resident Evil Welcome to Raccoon City” => no luck
I typed in “Resident Evil” with year “2021” => no luck
I typed in “Raccoon City” => no luck

It seems that this movie is just missing in your database.

Maybe you can help me.

OK with adding {imdb-tt6920084} it matched

Still strange that a manual seach did not find the movie

Same for me. Like it was missing.

Your trick worked for me as well.

@mike4001 Where are you adding that imdb data tag at in order to make the match? Because it’s 2:00 PM CST and I still can’t auto- or manual-match this thing through the conventional methods.

You can add it to the folder name of the movie itself, like this Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City (2021) {tmdb-460458} or just search in the fix match panel by searching for the id tmdb-460458 as the title.

Or just do a manual match for a title of ‘tt6920084’.

Thank you, was about to report the same. Very odd. As stated, using tt6920084 matches fine.

Guys, there’s no need to change your naming scheme. Just do what @Snowknight26 said. Below is an example, in case someone doesn’t know how to do it.

Click on the elipsis next to the movie poster → Fix Match/Match → Search Options

Manual match is easy but the question should be asked why doesn’t the Plex Movie Agent find it as the title is in TMDB.

AFAIK, the new Plex agent mostly uses TMDB.

Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City

Edit - ooops, link to that discussion already posted. Sorry.

Not sure if it’s the case here, but for years Plex has had repeatedly recurring bugs around agents fetching data for movie titles that contain colon characters.

It’s nice that inputting the IMDB ID into the dialog worked for this one. I wish you could do the same with TMDB IDs. (I don’t plan to use the braces format on my folders)

You can. Use this syntax tmdb-460458.

Oh! Good. I missed you mentioning this in your previous post. Thanks.

Interesting. Funny it is not shown at all in the list if you search just “Resident Evil”

I’ve given up on the agent and have been using Filebot for metadata renaming info.
Works like a charm from movies to TV shows and music files.

Workaround or not, seems like a bug in Plex that needs to be resolved.
