I have a Plex Server running on a Mac Mini with High Sierra, a Google TV chromecast running the Plex client app. When I try to play certain movies, a circle spins around, then Plex crashes back to the Google Home Screen. I have loaded a new version of the movie, no difference. Uninstalled and reinstalled the client, no difference. It’s not the server, it’s the client is the problem because I had a Windows server running, same problem. Anyone had this problem and know a fix? Thanks
I’ve been running into a similar problem with certain videos, mostly TV shows, that crash the app back to home or restart it. So far, I’ve deduced it is something with the audio track in the video. If I disable HDMI passthrough it will play fine. but even that is flimsy as one episode with the same video and audio formats will work fine but the next episode will crash every time. Or I’ll run into 3rd times the charm and the video will play. Seems to happen mostly with e-ac-3 or e-ac-3-JOC audio formats.
I need a day to sit and gather logs off the app but haven’t had a weekend where there wasn’t something else that had to be done.
My CC with Google TV is plugged directly into my receiver and my receiver does support the audio format of the video.
