Server Version#: 1.19.4.2935
Player Version#: xbox one, 2.55.0.70
So this has been happening for years. I would LOVE to get it figured out. Intermittently my movies will just crash right about exactly at the 2hr mark almost like the file was cut short and takes you right back to the Plex menu. But the file is not short. This only seems to happen with movies over 2 hrs long. I am attaching a log of the latest occurrence of this which was when viewing the movie “Minority Report” and at EXACTLY 2 hrs. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated! Thanks (5.8 MB)
EDIT: I want to add that when I started this movie I paused it and the timeline showed it as being exactly 2 hrs long. Now it shows it as being 2:25 which is correct.
Thanks for the reply! I’m confused as I dont see a plex server version that high? I’m currently on 1.19.4.2935 which shows as being the latest and this issue has persisted through dozens updates.
The Xbox One is on 2.55.0.70. Is this talking about the Xbox One app version?
When the movie crashes I restart it and then fast forward to the 2hr mark to continue watching. Sometimes it sits there and buffers and never stops the “buffering” message and I have to stop, restart it a few times to get it to work. No idea why and it’s always done that too. 12 thread 5820k with 32gb of RAM you would think there is enough horsepower.
Oh, sorry, looks like I misread your version number. The post mentions 1.9.6, you are running a much newer version (1.19.4).
The post I linked mentions that this might be an issue with Plex’s auto quality adjustment. Do you have that feature turned on in the Plex app on the Xbox?
Actually I just checked and I dont see that enabled anywhere or how to even enable it for that matter. Am I being done? I have stream quality set to Original. Server is on my local LAN.
