Movies no longer match if the year is in the filename

I’m having an issue where my movies no longer match,it seems to be related to the year being in the title of the file. So for example I’ve got a file called “The Nice Guys 2016” and it doesn’t match, if I manually match it then it says no matches, as soon as I remove the 2016 it then finds “The Nice Guys (2016)” as a match.

I’m sure files named like this used to match, has something changed in the way the agents work or in plex or is it a bug on my setup somewhere?

Try renaming the file so the year is in parentheses.

That does work but I’d rather I didn’t have to edit the file names when I’m sure it used to work on it’s own.

The convention to put the year in parentheses has always been the recommended way.

All other ways may have worked at some point, but were never guaranteed to keep on working.
