For some reason since 2 days ago when I updated to the latest Plex release on my Synology DS413 I can no longer play any movies through my XB1. As soon as I hit play on a movie the CPU on the Synology spikes to 100% and the process is PlexTranscode or something like that. At first I thought it might be because the movies are DTS .MKV’s and I read somewhere that the XB1 doesn’t support DTS, so I tried a different file, a movie which played fine last week and the same thing happens. No matter what file I try to play, the CPU spikes and it looks like it is trying to transcode something, does anyone else have the same problem?
If I go to the menu on the XB1 and click on … the audio stream shows as AAC which is even stranger (In VLC on my mac it shows as DTS).
As mentioned, this has only just started happening.

Is it possible that you have chosen a different Bitrate for the video stream?
The strange thing, is when I bring up the menu when the movie is trying to play and the screen is just black, I get the audio showing up as AAC, the language english and then under stream its just blank, I can’t select anything.
You can adjust this on the preplay page.
I will try to find this
DTS must of course be transcoded as XBox doesn´t support it yet, but the video stream, when set to Original, should direct play.
Yeah, the strange thing is that this has been working for the past two years and now all of a sudden it no longer works. As in movies I played last week will no longer play. TV shows still seem to work fine but movies are no go. Three trailers play and then when it gets to the movie it’s just a black screen, the Ethernet lights stop flashing (i.e. no activity) and the process appears on the Synology as Plex New Transc at between 40-80% (that’s what it was last night).
It doesn’t seem like I am the only one though, there are other people here who seem to have the same problem.
