Movies not showing up in PMS

Up until yesterday, I had all my movie titles showing in my Plex server but while I was copying 1 of my blu rays to my WD Mycloud drive the drive lost connection to the internet & the rip was interrupted so I had to start over. The new rip didn’t copy into the Library nor did the Blu-ray I copied afterward. I use DVD FAB Blu-ray copy to copy my movies. I ended up deleting the library & try adding everything back to see if I could get the 2 newest movies to show up but now nothing is showing up. My server is running on my desktop & not my NAS. I’ve tried updating the library multiple times but all it shows @ the bottom is the scanner showing the titles but not adding anything to the library. 1 thing I tried to rule out if something is wrong with my NAS is I copied 1 of the movies to my internal drive & change the directory for the server to look but the movie still didn’t import into the library so I know there’s nothing wrong with the NAS. Any ideas for why this is happening? Update: I completely uninstalled Plex, deleted the Plex media server folder & the software registry key, reinstalled & still can’t get the most movies to import. My music shows up though.

Can you zip up the entire log folder and attach it.

Try a different meta agent

Here’s my log.

Don’t put your any of your media in the root of a drive, make sure your naming and folder structure follow the guidelines in the support article. Change the names prior to coping into scanned location.

Naming Movie files

Did you look @ my log? I had my movies in a folder before & Plex saw them just fine.

I did look at your log.

All the movies i copied to my drive copied into a movies folder & Plex identified then no issues.

I’ll look again. Could you show the output of the following: http://localhost:32400/library/sections
Copy as text and attach.

What is that?

Ok, I did find the “Movies” folder:

Jun 06, 2016 20:15:51.225 [11872] DEBUG - * Scanning directory Z:\Movies (parent: yes)

However, I only see two files in it, neither of which follow naming guide.

Type that url into a browser on the server and it should return some xml with info about your setup.

So how should it be? I have to mount my drive because the server isn’t on the NAS. I have a media folder then a movies folder.

It looks like you have your movies in the root of X.

Jun 06, 2016 20:02:50.791 [6696] DEBUG - Adding subdirectory for scanner: X:\300 (2006)
However I don’t see any actual movie files within those folders that Plex could read or play.

If X is the drive you want for your movies in, then create X:\Movies and put the movie folders and files within.
e.g. X:\Movies\300 (2006)\300 (2006).mp4. You don’t need the nested movie folder, but it’s how I do it.
Make sure you have your Movies Library pointed at X:\Movies and not just X:.

DVD Fab uses a weird type of folder structure. There’s several folders inside of a movie but it seems like the only file it needs is the M2TS file which is the movie. That file is 2 levels deep. Goes like this: X:\Movies\300 (2006)\BDMV\Stream\00000. The 00000 is the actual movie file.

Yes, I see the strange file extensions and I think that if that is some sort of dvd image format, and Plex can’t play that.

I still don’t get how it Plex was able to identify those before if it’s such a problem now. Every blu ray I copied showed up in the library as it was being copied.

I can’t say. I see the folder structure, naming and the actual media as an issue. Will have to wait for MovieFan to advise.

There are different ways to copy a disc. If it is a DVD, PMS can see the .vob files, but I doubt it will get matched to a movie properly. You’d have to do the matching by hand. The same with a BR, if you make a copy so you see the file structure as is, PMS can see the .m2ts files. However, DVD Fab has an iso option which saves the disc as a single iso file. PMS will not see these files.

It’s a little hard to tell what is going on. The scanner logs show that the scanner is not finding any files except that miniso file, which is not an extension PMS will see.

X:\Movies\300 (2006)\BDMV\Stream\00000
Your logs don’t show it seeing the stream folder. Can you provide some screen shots of your files?

I will post some screenshots. I think something went haywire when that rip got cut short & Plex no longer recognized my movies. I had close to 50 of them.
