Hello. I have an issue where Plex will display content to view in a player (phone, TV app, etc) where the content title and thumbnail will be incorrect. For example, a home video might show up as a 1950’s horror film in the list of movies to watch. How may I manually set the title/thumbnail of a video in Plex?
Thank you.
-Mike
You must carefully select the type of the library.
For your own home videos, you should not use the library type ‘Movies’.
Because then Plex will try to find which ‘cinema movie’ it is - and of course whatever Plex may come up with, it will be wrong.
Store your home videos in a folder separately from regular movies.
Create a library in Plex of the type ‘Other Videos’
Point this library to the folder with your home videos.

I have this problem with normal movies and shows. For instance: Top Gear Season One Episode One came up as Aftershock Part 1. Top Gear is a car show, not a gay porn. This is completely unacceptable!! I want to just disassociate my entire library from their thumbnails as this problem occurred many times, but don’t know how. Changing it to use local thumbnails only appears to only affect things in the future… Help!
Looks like you have tried to add ‘tv show’ content into a ‘movie’-type library.
You must strictly separate tv shows/series and movies.

That is not consistently my problem tho. Deja Vu came up wrong too.
