Incorrect title and thumbnail for Other videos

Hi all,

I’m running v. 1.13.9.5456 on my Synology NAS, and using my Apple TV (Plex player version 1.34). I have a folder that I’m placed a bunch of “other” videos in, including some photography “how to” videos that I’ve purchased. When I browse to them using Plex on my AppleTV, the titles of the videos have been completely renamed and there’s a thumbnail showing that has nothing remotely to do with my video. For instance, the video named “Lesson 02 - About The Gear.mp4”, shows a title of “Lecture 21” with a thumbnail of a French movie. Another example is, “Lesson 14 - Catch The Moment.mp4”, which has a title of “Brain Damage” and shows a thumbnail for a movie by the same name.

Under Advanced the options for this folder, I don’t have Cinema Trailers enabled, but I do have “Enable Video Previews Thumbnails” enabled, and Scanner is set to “Plex Video Files Scanner” and Agent is “Personal Media”.

I’d welcome any suggestions on how to resolve this issue, as it’s quite annoying.

Thanks!

This means your ‘Other Videos’ library is still trying to match your videos to real cinema movies.
Which in turn means, it is not a type ‘Other Videos’ at all.

Edit this library
go to the ‘Advanced’ tab
set for Scanner = ‘Plex Video Files Scanner’
and for Agent = ‘Personal Media’

Then perform the Plex Dance with all those mismatched items.

Thanks OttoKerner. I think this may work. I’m in the process of attempting it, but I’d just added my massive music catalog to Plex, and it’s been updating/downloading Metadata for the last 24+ hours.
