Hi all,
I’m still relatively new to plex, but one thing that annoys me is when watching movies there’s no quick and easy way to move forward or back a chapter. On any bluray player this feature is available, but the skip fwd or skip back functions on my Nvidia shield or roku ultra don’t seem to do the same thing in plex. Instead I have to use the down arrow and then find the chapter (by the way it would be nice if you added a colored outline or something to make it easier to see the current chapter selected in the chapter preview bar). Am I totally missing something? I’m using a Logitech harmony elite remote and confirmed the chapter fwd and chapter back buttons are properly assigned. Thanks!

- ↓ – Jump back 10 minutes (or to the previous chapter, if available)
These keys work for me. is the keyboard working for you? I don’t have a harmony so can’t say how that works. If you have the ability to map keys to whatever remote you have then you should be able to map those to whatever you like.
( to be clear if you bring up the on screen controller then the up/down arrows keys will just work for navigating the controller)
Thanks for the quick reply, the Up and Down arrow simply bring up the info menu showing the play/pause button, where you are in the entire movie. Wouldn’t the Next Track and Previous Track (chapter fwd and chapter bkwd) make the most sense for this feature anyways?
EDIT: I should mention i’m using the “new video player”…
EDIT2: Tried disabling the new player and have the same issue. The Up and Down arrow doesn’t work either (neither for 10m forward/back or next/previous chapter).
Sorry I am confused right now about which app you are talking about. You tagged this Plex Media Player which is a specific player app for HTPC computers. Do you just mean Roku and Android TV?
Apologies, there is no roku or nvidia shield (non server) tag that I could pick. I’ve changed it now, but yes my problem is specific to the nVidia shield Plex app or the Roku Plex App.
oh ok, we only use the commands that are avail with the remotes that come with those devices. I can ask about possibly adding something in future but I don’t want to make false promises
Totally understandable, and thanks it would be awesome if you could look into it. On the harmony, there are commands for “next track” and “previous track”. I read a little more, and it looks like nVidia enables these commands in the case of folks pairing a keyboard with media function keys on it with the Shield TV. So it does seem to be an official command, if you need any help or info from the harmony side let me know and I’m happy to assist.
I am very happy that the new player finally defaults the chapter selection to the current chapter on the OSD. So thank you to the developers for that! 
That said, ideally I would also love to see previous/next track added to the android TV player as well. Even if they are keyboard commands, I can map them to my remote.
