I have pre-ordered a show that has both a black and white version as well as a colorized version of each episode. I wondered how Plex will organize this. Will it show both versions and I get to choose which one? Or will it just play a default version. If it chooses a default version, how does it determine which one it plays if the only difference is whether or not it’s colorized?
I feel like Plex should show you the different versions of an episode when you select an episode. Think of episodes that have extended versions or alternate endings. I know 30 Rock had a West Coast and an East Coast version of certain episodes.
I’m now thinking of movies. They have alternate endings, extended versions, theatrical cuts, special editions, black and white vs. colorized etc. If Plex just showed the different versions when you select the movie, it would clean up your library. I have 3 different versions of the 1st Avatar movie. The normal, special and extended versions, and it would be nice to consolidate those into one title and then show the different versions when you select the movie, instead of having these “Editions” that clutter up the library. I think adding the Editions within the movie title or within the T.V. show episode would look a lot better.
Let me know what you guys are thinking.
