Good LUCK! PLEX does not work well when moving media around!

@Rickt1962 I can move any of my libraries (some of which are multi-terabytes) from machine to machine without any lost / mislabeled / incorrect content. The key is to make the move WITHOUT LOSING the database records I will help here with a real-world write up if it benefits anyone

My procedure has always been: Make sure any ‘auto’ processing is off COPY the media from one ‘library’ ‘folder’ to a new location. Hmmm. I guess I never noticed that change, but you are right. It doesn’t do that anymore. Also forgot step 7. SCAN library again.

Yea. I read his instructions couple to try interpret what’s actually happening. Kicker was the MOVING the files instead of Copying - which got me on the right track. IDK why, but it just didn’t play right when copying. Good to go know though.
