What to do if I moved my files from volume2 to volume1?

Hi due to change in my NAS drives setup I had to move my video library from volume2 to volume1.

So now Plex is telling me the files are missing.

What’s best way to tell Plex the files have moved from volume2 to volume1?

(Of course I could add the new folder to Plex and remove the old one, but that means Plex will reindex everything, which is less ideal as it will take time, resources and will consider the files newly added…)

Also please note the existing Plex install is not moving and stays on Volume2. So, my plex server seems fine (I can login and access the settings).

For now I have this error:

Playback Error
Please check that the file exists and the necessary drive is mounted.

If you have empty trash automatically turned on then you have to restore from backup. If not, then you can simply add the new location. Do not remove the old location. Do a full scan and refresh, and you’re good to go. Read the logs if you’re curious because the logs will say that Plex has detected the move.

This is applicable for all Linux platforms (DSM is one of them)
