My DS920+ does not show the installed Plex folders in File Station. Evidently this is due to changes in DSM 7 and how packages are installed. They seem to be hidden in @appstore\docker\Plex Media Server (the hidden folders can be seen in Plex when pointing libraries to media folders). I have full admin read/write privileges enabled, but cannot see any hidden folders on the NAS in either File Station or Windows file manager. Is there an easy way to access these files/folders? Is there a way to force the install to a shared folder? I have a huge music collection that I need to transfer the metadata for, and I would like it to be easy to access and back up in the future. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
No. They are hidden by Synology. That’s unfortunately how it works.
The NAS is an appliance which exports shared media folders to you.
Although it behaves like a great big hard drive, it’s not as easily accessible as one.
Okay, I have successfully installed v1.24.2.4973 and is up and running on my DS920+. I have copied the Media, Metadata, Plug-in Support, and Plug-ins folders from Windows to PlexMediaServer/AppData/Plex Media Server on the NAS. It seems like Plex should see my libraries and allow me to change the path to the correct folders, but it doesn’t see any libraries and only allows me to create new ones. What am I doing wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks! It works!
