Multi-disc mystery

Server Version#:
Player Version#: Version 4.57.4

Hello,

I have uploaded an album to my NAS, which Plex has partially successfully processed. It’s a 3-disc album, and although the 3 discs are on their own folders inside a main folder on the NAS, Plex has decided that that two of the discs are one album, and the third disc is on its own.

Ideally, I want all 3 discs within one album. Apart from name differences (i.e. songA.m4a, songB.m4a inside folder X and Folder Y)., folders and files are identically named.

My file structure on the NAS is: artistname>albumname>artistname - albumname [Disc 1] , artistname>albumname>artistname - albumname [Disc 2] , artistname>albumname>artistname - albumname [Disc 3]

I thought I had followed the naming rules on Adding Music Media From Folders | Plex Support . Should I have all 3 discs in the one folder? I tried it and that didn’t seem to work.

Do you have each disc tagged as such? All the tracks from disc 1 can be tagged with a discnumber of 1 or 1/3 and so on.

I I have Plex set to use use embedded tags, but I have several multi-disc albums and have not had an issue. I also do not separate them by folder, although I’m not sure if that matters or not. Mine are named and organized as such:

/Music/Pink Floyd/The Wall/01 01 - Pink Floyd - In the Flesh_.flac
/Music/Pink Floyd/The Wall/02 01 - Pink Floyd - Hey You.flac

Many thanks for your feedback. To answer your question, no I don’t think so. I have been told about kid3 as a way of editing tags. I think I will download it and investigate further as it serums that tags are more than useful :slightly_smiling_face:
