I think you meant to tag this as samsung-tizen instead of android-tv.

What i can read this is how to solve it:

  1. in your plex server set : Network → Secure connections → Preferred

  2. And allow insecure connection on your tv (as the old cert must lickly will not to updated on tv’s, only if tv manufacturer update it, sends out and update) - will most lickly not happen

I’m also having the same problem. Tried everything nothing is working. Was working 4 days ago. If you have any suggestions please let me know. Thinking it is time for new tv.

Hey!

Im not going to buy a new tv just because something as little as they WON’T update the cert!

imo they shouldn’t have made plex app for tv’s if they won’t continue to update it!

I have a samsung TV, changed the settings as per previously instructed above.

Some shows that have just been downloaded or added since the updated settings will work, and most that were added prior to that will not

any one else getting the same issue ?

This solution is only for devices no longer supported - Samsung Tizen version above 2.4 is still supporten and the above solution will not solve “Multimedia file format not supported” error.

Hey!

Okay what is the solution then? since it’s not working here?

I don’t allow my server to transcode and I suspect the problems you are having are related to the transcoder, and I don’t know too much about that…

If it were me I would try to reproduce the error (and explain the steps I took) and upload my log files…

This has seemed to fix the problem for me. Checking apps age it has not been updated for a few months. Know knowing it might be a Old Cert. that is the problem. I followed instructions and changed tv Plex app ‘allow insecure connections’ to ALWAYS and’ prefer insecure connections’ to ALWAYS. Now all my shows play fine.

The “Multimedia file format not supported” error has now disappeared and everything is working as it should.

Thanks for the help…

I am having a similar issue where remote play with transcode no longer works on tizen. I am also experiencing this issue: Solved: TV Memory Low - Samsung Community - 1769590 and have added external memory and moved the plex app to the external memory. Still experiencing the same issue.

Hi - I found “Allow insecure connections” but cannot find “prefer insecure connections”. Can you point me in the right direction? I hope this works! Thanks! -DB

I made these changes and I am still getting the same error. Does anyone else have any suggestions?
