TV playback problems

Server Version#: 4.103.2
Player Version#: 5.32.1 (for tizen OS Samsung)

Sorry, this is my first time using plex media server + my english is bad. If I duplicated the topic, do not swear.
I have:
TV Samsung LT24H390 - playback problems on it.
HP laptop - no problems
Plex media server for ubuntu server - configured according to manuals.
Naming and Organizing Your TV Show Files
Transcoder
Server Settings

I have downloaded many movies. Most of them don’t play on my Samsung TV
For example:
I am using a file like this:
Shaft.2000.1080p.Blu-ray.Remux.AVC.-Kyle.mkv
With technical data:
Quality: Blu-ray Remux (1080p)
Video: MPEG-4 AVC, 18.9 Mbps, 1920x1080
Audio: Russian (AC3, 6 ch, 384 Kbps), (AC3, 6 ch, 640 Kbps), (AC3, 6 ch, 448 Kbps), (AC3, 2 ch, 192 Kbps) , (DTS-HD MA, 6 ch, 4332 Kbps), Ukrainian (AC3, 2 ch, 192 Kbps), English (DTS-HD MA, 6 ch, 4299 Kbps)
Size: 21.09 GB
Duration: 01:39:19

When you start this video, a few minutes pass (the screen is dark on the TV), after which the message “Playback error. Media file format is not supported” will appear on the TV

I don’t know how to give you a bad log, it doesn’t copy.
But I keep getting the same warning:

Level
Warning

message
[Req#2384/Transcode] Got a request to stop a transcode session without a valid session GUID.

If you enable logging from the plex player from the TV to the server, it will return approximately the same error “Playback error. Media file format is not supported”

If my TV cannot play a certain file because it is not a valid format for it, then why do I need to transcode? Isn’t it to convert to a TV-readable format?
I may be wrong, so please explain to me. If you need to provide a log, tell me how, because I could not copy it

Did you do this?

Note : Due to root certificate limitations with the device OS itself, most Samsung models will not support secure connections with a personal Plex Media Server. To allow connections to a personal server, you should ensure that the app is set to Allow Insecure Connections (and to allow fallback to insecure connections) in the TV app settings and the Plex Media Server must be set to Preferred for the Secure Connections preference.

Incredible! This really helped. Sorry that I did not carefully read all the manuals and had to create a whole topic.

Can you please advise me on the following points:

  1. On the server side, on the Network tab: Should the Secure connections option be set to Preferred or Required?
  2. On the side of the TV, I chose on the tab, in addition, I set the parameters:
Allow insecure connections: On the same network as the server
Prefer insecure connections: On the same network as the server
  3. I have another LG TV (for my mom, I don’t remember the model) that is connected remotely, it should also be set to Allow insecure connections always? (although she claims that she had no problems with playback, but I’m just in case to understand)

On the server side
Settings → Network → Secure connections preferred

On the TV I would set it to Prefer insecure connections: On the same network as the server

The LG tv is not a problem. This issue is specific to just Samsung TV’s

THANK YOU VERY MUCH. Everything is working.

Another such question. Configured on the server:
Language tab
Automatic selection of audio track and subtitles is checked
Prefer audio tracks in - my language
Subtitle mode - Shown with an audio track in another language
Prefer subtitles in - my language

Everything works fine on the Samsung TV, but on the LG TV there is always an audio track in English, you have to set it manually when watching each movie, why?

I can’t say exactly but these are some things to check

There are actually 2 places to configure language and subtitle settings. One you’re talking about under Languages and one

Under Settings → Account → Language AND Audio & Subtitle settings
https://app.plex.tv/desktop/#!/settings/account <-click

These language and subtitle settings are configured for each account. You have to instruct her on how to log in on a computer and make her settings look just like yours

Your mom may need to refresh the app on the tv to see the changes
If this doesn’t solve it let me know

yes, it works. I forgot that in the account for LG TV, I also had to set it up. I was sure that the server settings apply to everyone. I haven’t personally tested it, but my mom says everything is fine!
Thank you!
