every remote samsung TV is getting this error
any other remote client (web, roku, fire tv etc) works fine.. but any samsung smart TV gets this..
Anything I can do with it?

I am getting the same message on my Samsung TV. This only started happening recently but it happens with everything I try to play. Every other device works fine. Does anyone have a cause and fix?

I was having the same issue and I believe I fixed it by going into the settings for video and changing the Maximum H.264 level from the recommended at 5.1 up to 5.2. Maybe give that a chance? I changed it on the playback machine, not in the server web client.
I’m having the same problem. Changing the settings has not helped.
Just replying here in case OP or others checks in. This is related to the expired certs on Smart TVs. I fixed it by disabling secure connections in the server settings and setting connections to insecure on the client. Unless the certs are renewed (by the tv manufacturer) then secure connections won’t be an option with these clients.

I have 3 Samsung TV’s non older than 3 years old. All have performed well with Plex without any issues. However one of the TV’s now gives me a “Playback Error Multimedia file format not supported” message. The other two TV’s work with Plex as they should. I notice my iPhone also works well with Plex. The TV that is giving me problems will support Plex Live TV and also all my music files play just as they should. I have no ideas of what to do next…you thoughts please…
