Thanks, I know about the merging solution. I was just wondering whether the issue of multipart files still exists. I believe it is not in high demand so most probably wont get fixed anyway.

Would like to return to this topic - multipart videos still do not work in Plex Web Player Version 3.20.4 and Plex Server Version 1.8.3.4235. Any chance to get this fixed? If no, is there any open source components that must be fixed - I’ll be happy to contribute.

Same here, can’t get Lord of the Rings to play the extended versions (on 2 blu-ray discs). Each disc is a part.

As of this post, Plex Server handles multi-part movies okay (support for multi-versions of multi-parts would be nice) but Plex Cloud does not handle them correctly.

I’m also having the same problem with playing LOTR. The Windows player has a major stumble at the changeover, but does carry on. None of the iOS devices (pads, phones or AppleTV) will play the second part, they get stuck in a loop playing the last few seconds of -pt1 and refusing to play -pt2

Please can you fix this? The stitching tools are not very reliable and this feature used to work fine.

i had the same problem with playing multiple part movies on Apple TV4 (playing only the 1st part).

i have found a solution.

Do NOT put multiple parts in a folder. For example:
The below setup will not work.
Movies library:
Lord Of The Ring (2015):
Lord Of The Ring (2015) - part1.mv4
Lord Of The Ring (2015) - part2.mv4
But this will work

Movies library:
Lord Of The Ring (2015) - part1.mv4
Lord Of The Ring (2015) - part2.mv4.
the Movie Library will show only “Lord Of The Ring (2015)” but it will play both parts.

Anyways, any update regarding multipart playback support in Android app? This is my file:

ls Woman\ in\ Witness\ Protection\ (1997)/

Woman in Witness Protection (1997) - cd02.avi

Android app only plays the first part.
