Multiple copies of one movie treated as multi-part film

Server Version#: 1.21.1.3830 (has happened after most recent update as well)
Player Version#: multiple players all up to date

Hello,

I have multiple copies of some movies.
I place the movies in a folder with the following syntax
Folder name: ()
Movie titles are as follows:
movie title (year of release) - RQ DVD 1.mkv
movie title (year of release) - RQ DVD 2.mkv
movie title (year of release) - SHQ DVD 1.m4v
movie title (year of release) - SHQ DVD 2.m4v

When Plex scans these files in, it combines 1&2 of each file type as one movie. Ie a 1.5 hour movie lists as 3 hours

So instead of seeing 4 files available, it shows 2.

Thanks to hunger games mockingjay part 1 and part 2 I’m very familiar with splitting movies and then re-matching them. This doesn’t seem to work here though as it’s all the same title. Also, I’m at 750+ unique title movies and really don’t want to manually split and re-match all the ones with duplicates (which is a good majority)

In some cases I have 3+ copies of a movie, how can I retitle the ending so it stops treating them as multi-part movies?

put the quality stuff in a square packet.
it appears Plex is considering this to be part of a stacked-file naming (usually this should only cover - dvd1, - dvd2… suffixes)

When you say square packet you mean those symbols right?
So: movie title (release year) - [SHQ DVD 1].m4v

correct.
Plex will ignore information in a set of square brackets ([...])
