I don’t think that’s a bad idea, but I would prefer them to figure out a way to fix the layout so a single, longer Edition name is readable.

No, they shouldn’t just add an overlay. There are utilities for users to clutter cover art with overlays, Plex doesn’t need to do it as well. They just need to implement what users asked for 10 years ago.

Yes, the original feature request for proper multiple cut support was created more than 10 years ago. And we still only hit a thrown together solution.
