Ok I’ll apologize first for not making individual threads, the internet at my current hotel isn’t the greatest and I have no clue if this one will post before timing out or not and this is the first time I’ve had to make a post since I’ve noticed these issues.
First, I’m having issues with the web app not going to full screen when I click the button. The Icon will change to reflect that it thinks it’s gone into full screen mode (arrows pointing out now point in) but nothing else happens. This happens regardless of the browser I use. I typically connect through my DDNS URL/port which I think is worth mentioning as I have yet to reproduce the issue when I go to plex.tv first to launch the web app.
The second issue is the mobile apps don’t always seem to recognize when a connection has been lost due to time-out or leaving the wifi it’s connected to and will keep an icon up on alert bar on my android table (Samsung Tab 4) and my android phone (S6) stating it’s still download or in rare cases casting to a chromecast that’s no longer turned on. The only way to get rid of the alert is to reboot the device. The “x” in the corner of the alert won’t clear it out and in the case of it thinking it’s downloading, manually running the sync does not get it to go away either. I’ve found the most dependable way to reproduce this is to start a sync then leave my hotel (to go to my client, or dinner later in the day). The WiFi connection will drop and the app still thinks it’s downloading. I thought I had a screen shot of this saved but I cannot seem to locate it. I’ll try to force this and get a screen shot up ASAP.
The last issue is more of an annoyance than anything else, but I can’t get the notification to go away in the web app that there’s an announcement. I’ve read all 9 that are displayed yet it still says there is one. Any way to make that go away?
I’m using 0.9.16.6 which the server says is the most up to date when I log in.
I did not mention but should to fill in other gaps in my original post, the laptop I’m using while on the road is windows 10 pro, with the latest versions of IE, Chrome and FF all exhibiting the same issues.
Update on the syncing issue from above. I was syncing 10 30-minute episodes of a show to my tablet yesterday. My cell picked up that trans-coding was going on and created a notification in my phone’s alerts to show this. Both my cell and my tablet were at home connected to the same wifi. My cell’s notification locked up on the 5th episode and never went away.
The only issue still outstanding is the syncing icon not going away.
I just checked into a hotel room with a decent internet connection (for a hotel anyways) so I’ll do what I can to reproduce the sync issue today/tomorrow. I do have 5 episodes of Simpsons to sync maybe we’ll get lucky.
Finally got the sync issue to re-create. Was adding a new show to my tablet (Downtown Abbey) and it left 2 icons up for the download. Not sure when it happened as I let this go over-night. This time, the downloads did finish by themselves eventually (normally I’d have to manually sync to finish the download in this scenario) but the icons are still hanging out with no way to get rid of them. Attached Screen shot and trace
Bump. Anyone look into the trace to see if there any issues causing this that 1.0.1 actually fixed? At the rate it takes to reproduce every-time I do get a there’ll be a new version out for me to “try” which will get old fast - specifically when I don’t like to upgrade for the sake of upgrading.
Sign out your server. Restart, then sign back in. Wait at least 3 minutes. If sync doesn’t kick in provide the server log so I can see if there is an error.
The media server itself I can do next time it locks up no issue. If I’m on the road I won’t be able to re-boot the PC itself as I won’t be able to remote back in to get Plex launch again until I’m back home. Update when there’s something to report.
