While watching LiveTV there are sometimes very annoying glitches in the playback such as:
Buffering for ~half a second occasionally during playback.
“Watch From Start” never works, it will either loop the first few seconds indefinitely or just watch live anyway – this can be worked around by choosing watch live, waiting for the buffer to load and rewinding back to the start - though this is not ideal
Weird audio bugs such as audio being very sped up compared to the video
Sometimes when watching an in-progress recording it will run in slow motion with very high pitched audio until I force “convert” rather than “play original quality”.
The connection from my server all the way to my nvidia shield is wired.
Save yourself the aggravation and look into something like Channels DVR or Emby. Live TV on Android has been a buggy mess for years and the Plex staff has made it abundantly clear that they couldn’t care less.
All those thing are very annoying in the Android app and have been like it for months.
While doing nothing about fixing the Android app; they have built a completely new HTPC app. I have switched to using it for my main TV, it’s already much less buggy than the Android app, even though it’s still in pre-release.
