I have two Plex Media Servers pointing to the same back end storage for Movies and TV shows. When I log into PLEX.TV to watch something, what is the logic on what media server is being used? I know how to manually pick one or the other and I have my reasons on why I am doing this now that I don’t want to get into at this time. I simply want to know what the logic is on what one of the servers are being selected when picking a show.
Also, I wasn’t planning on keeping this setup for long term unless it is a viable solution for a high availability design where I can reboot one of the servers and still have the other one hosting content. I understand there stream would get interrupted on the server that was hosting the stream but if you can start it again with the server that is still online, that may be worth keeping two online.
