Multiple Plex servers question

I know it’s possible to have multiple plex servers.

is it possible to have different plex servers for particular features and yet have them under one interface so that it’s all seamless?

what i mean by all this is;
i live in new england and i’m stuck with xfinity. their cable package is bs and i don’t want it because it’s VERY expensive.
I have a silicondust hd homerun prime (the 3 tuner cable card reader).
I currently have a homerun 4k flex for antenna tv. it sucks… i have good antenna but my location prohibits a solid signal so… it just doesn’t work well and there’s nothing i can do about it.

my folks live in NJ and have verizon fios.

would it be possible for me to set up a small pms box with my homerun prime, set it up at their house, have them get a cablecard and then link it all under one interface?

so, when people stream movies and downloaded tv shows, it streams from my place, but when they click on “live tv” it automatically streams from their house in NJ… without having to switch servers or inputs, etc…

thanks!

Yes, you could do this. For example:

  • PMS A - Movies & TV Shows
  • PMS B - Live TV & DVR

You would share the respective libraries from each server. They will show up as separate servers and libraries when you expand the side bar in the plex media player. See below for an example from my main server and test server.

You could then pin the libraries you want from each server and they will show up as being integrated on the home screen. You can also reoder them so that they are listed in the order you want. I’ve done this in the example below.

The continue watching bar on the plex media player home screen will show all data across those pinned libraries.

hmmm, ok great!

thanks! i’ll have to work this out!
