Hi.
Not sure what to add from the title.
Plex works fine most of the time. However, I have one persistent problem…
If there is a requirement for the plex server to transcode, the video doesn’t play at all.
This is affecting Samsung TV’s in different locations.
The Affected devices are
Samsung TV - ue55ru7100kxxu running Plex 5.59.3
Samsung TV - ue43ru74070uxxu running Plex 5.59.3
Samsung TV - qe55q67ratxxu running Plex 5.59.3
I’ve deleted the codecs folder in the plex folder, and plex has recreated the folder and repopulated the codecs within it, but the problem persists.
EDIT: A few seconds of the debug log is available here. I’ve included just a few second when one of the users tries to play the file. Seems to become relevant at Apr 24, 2023 07:30:16.492.
I also note it says direct play is not available, but it is enabled on the client side.
According to the Plex dashboard, the video is playing, but the users screen stays blank and there is no audio…
I notice that the logs says direct play is disabled. This isn’t the case in the client, or the server and lots of others are direct playing without difficulty.
I’d appreciate any help or direction you could offer.

I’ve attached screenshots for Plex and Tautulli. The Generic device is not affected and plays fine, the Samsung device does not play at all. Both are transcoding audio. If I pick a movie that does not require audio transcode, the Samsung device will play fine. This is affecting quite a few devices though.
