Multiple windows user account with Plex Media Server

My Windows 8 desktop has 2 users. I have the Plex Media Server set up on my own user with all the files. If I start the computer up and log into the other user first, PMS starts up in that account, and when I log into mine, I am unable to load PMS; the icon will disappear from the taskbar once I try to click on it or run it again.

The only way to solve this is to restart my computer and make sure it loads with my user first. Is there a better way for this to work?

Either having it not auto start up on the other user or perhaps making the server the same on both users?

Login to the user account that you do not want PMS to run in.

Find the desktop system tray Plex icon.

Right click on it.

You will see a tick next to auto start on login. untick it

click the exit to close PMS on this user account.

The Plex icon should disappear now from the system tray at the bottom of the screen

rename the Plex Media Server folder under c:\users\\appdata\local

logout

Login to the user account that you want PMS to run in

Run the Plex Media Server program and go through the initial setup

Make sure it has the autostart on login ticked

I am going have a similar issue with a new build as my partner needs to use the PC I am setting up as a Plex server - is this still an issue with Windows 10?

In the instructions you say Rename the PLEX MEDIA SERVER folder, but you not state what it is to be renamed to?

Thanks for any help
