I’ve just added a new album from the artist “Let’s Eat Grandma.” I have only one music library: one master folder, one set of subfolders, one database, one user.
When I look up the artist “Let’s Eat Grandma,” I’m asked to “select source,” and my library is duplicated.
Each “source” has its own version of the artist. Each version of the artist has one of the albums attached to it. The spelling of the artist name is identical; as far as I know (but I have not looked exhaustively) this is only happening with this one artist/album… so far.
What’s going on here? Is there a way to re-unite these and get rid of the other “source”?
Does this issue persist after you refresh the library’s metadata?
Given you tried to hide the library names, it’s hard to tell what’s actually going on.
Refreshing metadata (for the library, for the artist and for the individual albums) doesn’t seem to resolve it; I’ve also made sure the server version is up to date, stopped and started the service, and ensured the player versions (devices and PC) are up to date.
Running “Fix Match” on the artist has harmonized the entries on “each” library, so they’re now identical and feature the same artist information with both albums showing… but I still have the “two sources” issue.
I’ll PM you a screenshot with both libraries. I’m not an expert on these things, but I know Plex hacking is a thing so I thought obscuring the library names might be prudent? They’re identical names, regardless.
