Music art is not loading

Trying to import my music and cannot manage to get Plex to Just Work.

My music is imported with Artist, Album, Title, and Track number just fine. Yet nothing else comes in. I had to do a Manual Match to fix these guys. Do I really have to do this another 2187 times?

Whatever that “Genres” drop-down is supposed to read from, well, it’s not reading from the Genre tag populated in all the MP3 files.

Tried searching this forum for a couple hours. Found this and this. One post doesn’t know what the solution was and the other post never received a reply.

Awwrite. Now, I’ve been playing with this for hours and I just broke down to post the above.

On a lark, I selected the first Album, scrolled to the bottom and selected the last Album, then did a Refresh Metadata. Now lookit:

Did I do that on the Library? Yes. Did it work? Well, I posted the above for a reason.

It does not logically follow that selecting all items with checkmark and then running a Refresh off the menu in the upper right corner should behave any differently than running a Refresh off the list of Libraries on the left side. Yet it does. Hopefully this helps someone else out there.

Gosh. I bet there is a wicked good reason why I need to manually click “match” and accept defaults when Plex could do the same thing for me. The answer is bound to make good sense to someone not named Immortal Fish.

Oh, but let’s face it! It’s not like there are going to be any solutions added to this thread anyway!

Clicking “unmatch” takes less clicks and results in a match.

I wish clicking the checks to select multiple items would also allow the “unmatch” option. It doesn’t, but lookit what happened when I simply “unmatched” each of the follwing checked items individually.

My hunch is Plex can be better and I doubt it should be this way.
