I have 2 music libraries: 1 a Plex Premium Music library for flac music, 1 a non-premium library used for audiobooks. The former, I have turned off the setting to keep track of play position, the latter I have it turned on. My issue is, the ‘true’ music library will sometimes track play position when it’s not supposed to, and will resume from the middle (or wherever I left off)of the track, which I don’t want. Are the settings somehow not separating correctly?
I’m not able to reproduce this. Can you provide more details? What client are you using?
I have experienced this issue on Plex Web, in addition to Plex for Android (latest versions). Running Plex through the Linuxserver.io docker container from unRAID, which uses the latest Plex Server version. I can try to skim through server logs to see what it was doing, but no guarantees.
When this inevitably happens again, I will post the logs and tag you (and maybe bother some other devs)
I encountered this, and grabbed the logs. Let me know your findings plex-log-d2dyno.zip (450.7 KB)
Were you casting to another device?
Yes I was.
@anon18523487 I had this occur without casting, and grabbed the logs.plex-log-d2dyno.zip (1.4 MB)
Interesting. I see once where a song finished and then going to the next song, instead of starting at 0, it started at the time the previous track stopped. i.e. first track stopped at 2:30, the next track started at 2:30. So it’s not that it remembered the location, it just didn’t start at the beginning like it should. I’ve seen this reported for movie trailers (I’m investigating that already) but hadn’t seen it for music. I’ll add music to my notes and see. Hopefully the fix for the trailers will also apply to music.
Hmm yeah, that is odd. Because I was also prompted with ‘Resume from 0:07?’
There is an issue where the CC doesn’t know the current track playing so the duration or resume positions are all messed up. We are making some changes to try to fix that. I think it will be in the next major PMS update.
