I know this is not a new topic, and I’m not expecting answers. Just hoping for a solution from developers.
I DO have a Premium Pass.
When I add media to my Movie and Photos libraries, I can get Plex to scan them and have them show up on the server. The Music library simply will no longer do so. A few weeks ago, I deleted the Music library and scanned the music from scratch. After a couple days (I have a lot of music), it successfully scanned about half of the original number of files I had - and then would no longer update.
I checked logs to see which file Plex Scanner seemed to be stuck on, and then deleted that file. But then Plex simply got stuck on another file. Quite frustrating.
I do NOT want to reinstall Plex Server from scratch, mostly because of my Movie library. I have hundreds of movies, and Plex seems to correctly tag about 80% of them. The rest I have had to tag manually. That’s a lot of movies and a lot of effort. I don’t want to have to do that all over again, especially not knowing if going through all of that will even solve the Music problem.
I hope the developers are aware this problem exists, and I know for sure that a fair number of users are experiencing it. I am hoping that they are working on a solution that will NOT require starting from scratch and importing all media all over again.
