Is there a way to change the layout of the music library.
When it shows albums, it has them all laid out in a grid, but when it comes to singles, compilations and what not, they’re all in a horizontal line. Can I switch this to have them all shown in a grid?
Also, is there a way to force an album into or out of one of those categories?
You currently cannot change the layout. Anything that’s not a regular album will be displayed as a single-row horizontal hub.
There’s a feature suggestion asking to change this but it’s seen little attention from the community.
You cannot currently modify the release type from within the Plex clients. Plex is picking this information up from MusicBrainz OR embedded metadata… so your choices are to fix a bad assignment at its source (waiting a few days for it to be approved by the MusicBrainz community and to replicate to the Plex databases) or to manually tag your files with MB based primary/secondary release type information.
Similarly to the above there’s an existing suggestion asking for an option to override the assignment inside Plex (iirc that thread also contains a link to a description how to manually tag the files for Plex to recognize the release types)
