I have been using Plex for my movies for over a year now and are finally starting to use it for mu music files.
Most of my music is decades old and some of it is from the Napster days.
Some are ripped from album CD’s and some are singles. Most are MP3 but some are video files of the music video.
I created file names and folder names that are mostly correct but after looking at the meta data on it I can now see the library has meta data that that is there and mostly not there.
After Plex scanned the library, it found 6,188 tracks and in reality there are 7,065 files in the main Music folder. I don’t know how many of these are video files. Probably less than 50, So I thinking Plex is missing some of those MP3 files.
I realize the library is a mess and I have read several articles saying this is probably because of the file naming scheme. Is there any other reason Plex could be missing so many files?
I am also wondering what is the best way to move forward here. I do not have the time to go through every file and redo it. Is there a cleaner or organizer program that can help with this?
Thank you in advance.
