Music Library not recognising

Server Version#: 1.26.2.5797-7000
Player Version#: 8.3

I have been using Plex for years for tv and movies and no problems. My music has been streamed through Synology Audio Station but I decided to give Plex a go for it.

My music is correctly labeled (volume/music/artist name/album/track) but when I added the library in Plex it shows as empty. When I try to scan it shows scanning for about 1 second then says cant find anything. Ive stopped and started the server but no joy. Plex has read/write access to the music folder so I’m at loss as to the problem.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Please scan the library again and get me the server logs.

Here you go, many thanks

You have a permission issue with that music folder. Or did you type the folder incorrectly? Above you said it was “volume” but your library is looking for “volume1”.

Sorry that was just a typo from me, it is Volume1 as that is the only volume I can select when adding a library.

I’ve checked the permissions folder for my music and it’s the same as for tv and movies yet doesn’t seem to want to scan. Is there anything else I’m missing?

Thanks

I’m not very familiar with Linux. Read this tip and trick post about permissions. Linux Tips - #22 by ChuckPa

I fixed it thank you, was a deeply buried permissions check box that was overlooked.

Thanks for the help.
