Server Version#: 1.29.2.6364
Player Version#: N/A
My apologies if this has been asked and answered previously. I’m running PlexServer on a Synology DS220+, version DSM7.1.1-42962 Update 3. The PlexServer version is 1.29.2.6364.
I did the following steps:
- I created a share on the NAS named iTunesMedia, and gave permissions to all users
- I moved my entire iTunes library to that share.
- I tested accessibility to the files by setting the default library on the Music app on my Mac to that share, and it was able to find the music normally.
- I then installed PlexServer onto the NAS.
- Using the File Station, I can browse to the music files, and the path shown is:
/iTunesMedia/iTunes/iTunes Media/Music/Music/Music - All albums are available in that path, separated by artist and album name (i.e. Each artist has a folder, and each album lives within the artist folder).
- In the “Manage Libraries” section of the PlexServer dashboard, I have one library listed, named “music”.
- When I click on the “music” library, then click on “Edit Library”, and then click on “Add Folders”, the folder list is displayed.
- The folder list contains the following:
/iTunesMedia/iTunes/iTunes Media/Music
/volume1/iTunesMedia/iTunes/iTunes Media/Music/Music
/volume1/iTunesMedia - I then click on “Scan Library Files” button.
After all this, however, when I go back to the main dashboard and click on “Music”, the system reports that “Music” is empty.
I’ve got to be doing something dumb here, or I must be missing something simple. Any suggestions on what I can do to resolve this would be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide. I’d really like to get the server up and running normally, so that I can try the Plex player.
Thanks!
