Plex Server now requiring Plex Pass to manipulate my personal Library?

Hi,

Not sure where to start to get help with Plex Server.

I log into my Plex Server remotely and try to scan the Library / analyze or Refresh Metadata and I get this:

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Sounds kinda like you’ve created a HOME - and are in it.
Home is a Plex Pass area I believe.

Go to Users and Sharing in the server settings - hover to the right of your user name and see if you can ā€˜Leave Home’.

Someone else reported this a few months ago. See this for possible resolution:

Yikes… I didn’t see any options to ā€œLeave Homeā€ and so I decided to delete the Library and try starting fresh. Now it doesn’t show up at all like it doesn’t want to link.

Is there a better place to get Plex support even though I’m not a Plex Pass member?

Thanks!

Nope - you got us - or other’s like us - and I may lead you astray.

I’m rather confident an answer will be forthcoming - eventually.
I’m not at all confident I’ll know what it is.

OK cool, no problem. Appreciate you jumping in!

So here’s an update - I closed my Plex Media Server (exited the app from the system tray icon) and then did a reboot of the PC… started it back up and when I went to the Library and selected Scan, it started right to scanning (and is still going which is normal based on my previous experience since I have a large Music library).

Might have been the trick needed. I’ll post an update shortly!

Thanks!

Well, I’m happy, and also surprised what I suggested may actually work…lol

Finger’s Crossed.

BTW:
If things go South - join the thread @beckfield posted and reply to an Employee to get their attention. Do whatever they suggest.
