Music metadata not showing properly on some FLAC files

A bit odd…

I recently decided to finally abandon iTunes/Apple Music and let Plex manage my library. That meant I could also finally start using lossless formats, woohoo! Now I can feel confident in re-ripping and then getting rid of my space-hogging CD collection. More woohoo!

However, I’ve run into a strange problem with a few of my newly FLACed albums. All the metadata (esp. track names) are correctly identified by the library scan and show correctly on my media server web page. However, on a few albums, the track names (and maybe other metadata) do not show in Sonos or Plexamp. The music plays just fine, thankfully. See screenshots for an example.

Any idea why this is happening? I’m stumped! FWIW I’m running the latest server 1.28.0.5999-7000 on a Synology NAS that is hosting the files.

I guess they are up to stable 1.28.1.6104 for DSM 7 on the plex.tv download page.
Any luck with that?

I usually ask to reduce the variables, did you plex dance the album that’s acting up?

Would you consider uploading 10sec samples of three of the tracks that exhibit this problem in one album? How about Plexamp logs? If you tag your original post with Plexamp, you’re more likely to loop in elan who often wants to help.
