I recently added Metallica- Hardwired… to self-destruct which is a three disc album. The files are Apple lossless AAC format. When it was added to Plex the album shows as Disc 2 and Disc 3 combining Disc 1 being shown as Disc 3. It doesn’t seem to be reading the disc number tag properly. I’ve checked the tags for all three discs and they read correctly (Disc 1–> 1 of 3, Disc 2–> 2 of 3, Disc 3–> 3 of 3). Plex seems to read Disc 2 accurately. Any suggestions on getting this fixed?
When you say the tags for all three discs are correct, are you talking about tags embedded in the files? If so, you need to make sure Plex is configured to use embedded tags, rather than Gracenote or Last.FM.
I had a terrible time getting Plex to correctly organize my CDs until I quit depending on Gracenote or Last.FM. That isn’t Plex’s fault - the online services just have too many mistakes.
