Music Playback Stopping

sigh… latest (beta?) update of the app. New bug.
I have a playlist of 1000-ish numbers. Press button to shuffle-play all songs. Only throws 20-30 random songs in the playlist…
How is it possible that this passed release tests??

Did you try listening to the whole list or skipping to the last song? For me it queues another song at random. Your phone only has so much RAM. It makes sense that they’d limit it so the app doesn’t hang and crash your phone when you queue a huge number of songs.

No, I was listening to music, and then suddently I couldn’t go to “next song”. Looked at the playlist. End of playlist.

That’s what betas ARE FOR. You should probably go back to the stable releases.

If only Plex was using the Beta-channel properly in the Playstore…
In my playstore it appears as a normal app between the other apps. Not in the beta-tab.
Maybe I’m doing something wrong, but when I entered the beta-testing group, the app appeared in the beta-tab.

Bump Bump !!

My Samsung phone won’t play songs in a row, I have to manually press for the next track.
It used to work, but a few months ago it stopped.

It seems to be if the music ends before the counter reaches what it thinks is the end, it freezes. Sometimes it will hang for a few seconds and then go to the next track, others I have to manually select.

Works fine on my TV, plays one track after the other

Finally got mine to work… All I had to do was break my old phone…once I configured my old AF android OnePlus One with a version of android last updated from Jan 2016 it worked! Now just as long as I keep a really old OS I should be fine /s

Bump

Just tried it with an older phone running Android 4.** seems to work OK
My newer phone Android 6.** is the one with issues

I second this

Same issue here. It means that I can’t really play music via my phone. How can this still exist after more than a year!?

Maybe news of this bug will hit Plex News and then it will finally get fixed.

lol. It is depressing that they keep developing these new features without making sure basic ones like music playback work.

Every time I see a new Plex feature, my instant reaction is “but does it blend^H^H^H^H^H play music?”

posted comment on their facebook announcement, asking when this will get fixed. Since nobody(plex employees) in this forum seem to care about the problem.

Yep… It’s depressing that we get new features that we’re not asking for, but this problem still exists… I’ve updated today the app to 6.6.0.2088 (probably a beta again). Now testing if it has been fixed. But I don’t think so… Will keep you guys updated.
