6.7 will include some changes related to this. Let’s retake this post after testing over that version. 6.7 beta hasn’t been released yet, you can check latest version in the first post in the beta forum.
Any estimate on when the 6.7 beta will be ready to test?
@antoniolg@jesusMC @“MovieFan.Plex” I tested version 6.7 on both my android 7.x devices (Nexus 6 & Moto E4) and it’s working perfectly thanks for all the help getting this fixed!!!
version 6.7.1.2498 still seems to stall before the end of a track, after the songs faded out. Then doesn’t move onto the next track. it still thinks its playing the current track.
Samsung Galaxy, Android 6.0.1

I’ve noticed the same thing. Usually it’s because I’ve gone underground on the subway and the phone thinks it’s connected to the internet, but it’s not. Plex hangs until the request times out.
Turning off Wi-Fi and mobile data fixes that almost instantly. You could also turn on airplane mode for the same effect.
Maybe the Plex devs should move certain HTTP requests off the main thread. It’s synced music. How could any request to the outside world be more important / required to make it play?
I’m on 6.7.1.2498 (I use the public release, not the beta) and I am still getting problems with playback randomly failing for my client I have some client logs, should I send them somewhere?

Please start a new thread as you may have a totally different issue with the same symptom. Also provide logs from PMS and your client after recreating the problem.
As I went out this morning for my pre-Thanksgiving feast walk, I listened to my carefully procured and crafted playlist with complete un-interruption. This along with many other things, I am truly thankful for this season. To all those who are still on this thread and the developers who fixed this issue…Happy Thanksgiving!
Folks seem to be saying this is resolved now. I wouldn’t know since I’ve long since switched to Subsonic, an app that actually works well for music, and whose devs are actually responsive.
I’ll go ahead and close this issue since folks seem to be working now.
