See attached screenshots. Mp3 tags are correct. Single Artist> single album> multiple tracks(6 mp3s).
Yet, in plex web and even in plexamp, when i go to that artist i see same the same album(Remixes)listed 5 times with like a single track under each album.
How do make it so that i see the 6 tracks under a single listed album? This doesnt make any sense and ive tried all settings for the library on the plex server side.
You are probably missing track numbers in your meta tags.
Yes i am indeed missing track numbers but why is that used to sort music for the same album?
Tracks within the same album are sorted by their track numbers.
ok but ive never seen this before with any other music player honestly.
is there a way for me to change this sorting in plex? I dont think i can go about adding track# to all of my music.
Also, isnt the track# also used for plyaback sequence? i.e track 01 first, then track 02 plays and so on?

Of course. That’s what sorting tracks within an album means.
There is not.
You will have to. There is no other way.
But doing so is easy. Give mp3tag a try. It’s free.

Im testing right now, added track numbers to the tracks under that album(used mp3 tag), did a library scan and even a metadata analyze. Songs do play in the track# sequence but as for the album sorting, Didnt seem to make any difference. Album is still listed multiple times.
I guess ill keep playing with it.
Try the Plex Dance with all tracks of an album at once.
(step 4 can be omitted with music)
All tracks of an album should be stored within the same folder together.
ok. that seemed to have fixed it. wondering why all the removing and re-adding of the library files though.
plex should be updating the files without all these steps really. But thanks anyways.
