can someone please send their PMS logs with debugging enabled and which capture the problem transcode?
Iām on Android, noticed the skipping after updating PMS to 1.43.0.10162 yesterday. And yes, Plexamp is transcoding to Opus (I store everything as FLAC) while on cellular.
Here are logs where Iām transcoding a track on version 1.43.0.10162 with the skipping issue. The transcode starts Oct 3 11:59:00 with thread 139581235706680

For me the skipping issue is ONLY when I am not on my PC. I have no skipping while listening in another PC on my home in a wired network. Only when I am on my phone. Tested all the albums I tried to listen to on my phone at home. Thank goodness I have bandcamp also. I corrected by deleting data, cache wasnāt enough.
Itās related to transcoding, which wouldnāt generally occur on desktop.

Hi, I posted this on the Plexamp subreddit this morning along with a sample video. In fact it was a comment on that post, which is bringing me over here.
Iām having this same problem on Plexamp on iPhone AND Plexamp on my Mac mini.
only started in the last week or so.
But Iām facing the issue on Android when itās direct play.
Hereās the log. I played aha crying in the rain. It skipped at least 12 times throughout the song.
How do you know it was playing directly? Also, if it was playing directly, the server logs wonāt help.
Downgrade from the beta media server.
This appears to be an issue with the latest beta Plex Media Server. If youāre having the issue, please downgrade to stable release.
If you have already downloaded/cached tracks, you will need to CLEAR CACHES and REDOWNLOAD files.

I understand that being on a beta version means things might not always go smoothly, and I think weāre all happy to help by providing logs or any data that could assist in resolving the issue. I truly appreciate that you took the time to read through the forum and respond. That said, the tone of your reply came across as a bit dismissive, and it really spoilt my day.
Note that since Iām having the issue and my playbacks are all Direct Play, not transcoded, the issue may not be due to the transcoder.
Btw, I can confirm that the issue goes away after reverting to version 1.42.2.10156.

Today I learned my docker version tag of ālatestā pulls down beta versions. Eek! Changing to āpublicā and downgrading to 1.42 fixes the jumping issue.

That is not an accurate way of determining that. More accurate is the codec displayed in the player.

I am having the same issue with audio transcoded to Opus via Plexamp on Android (also does the same with Symfonium). I am using the plexinc/pms-docker:plexpass docker image and which shows as version 1.43.0.10162. Does the plexpass tag pull down the beta version?
Reverting to 1.42.2.10156 using the public tag fixed it.

I am also having this issue with server version (1.43.0.10162-b67a664b6) I am on the public release channel. This seems to only happen with my transcoding (opus).
1.43 is the beta server.
1.42 is the public release server.
Yes that makes sense! I had tag in my docker of āplexpassā. No idea where that came from. Iām not sure why docker doesnāt honor the setting but maybe plex needs to load first.
This thread has fixed it! I switched tags to āpublicā and reinstalled on my phone. Stuttering gone.

For anyone experiencing this while running the Beta PMS release, could you please provide some sample files where youāre observing the issue. We have not been able to reproduce internally.
Same issue with Android PlexAMP, server on Synology 1.43.0.10231. Some MP3 play fine, with FLAC everything what i listened skips. Mostly using PlexAMP in my car. Tried both Android Auto and built in player via Bluetooth. Same issue. Where can i send sample file? Havent tried public version yet. Someone who downgraded, any extra issues?
