Music is skipping a few seconds forward on every song during playback. Happens in different places every time a track is played. Only happening on PlexAmp for my iPhone. Desktop works fine without any skipping during playback. iPhone is running iOS26. Any help would be appreciated!
Yeah. The music skips forward by a few milliseconds/seconds throughout the tracks. Happens on all tracks regardless of file type. Dropbox link to a screen capture that shows what I’m talking about.
This was happening to me yesterday on Android. It was reminiscent of a CD skipping.
What seems to have worked for me is clearing the app’s cache. I’m not sure of the procedure on iPhone, but I long-pressed the Plexamp icon on my home screen, clicked App Info, then cleared the cache from there.
So far this morning the music has not skipped while listening.
Cheers man! Cleared the cache from the settings menu on the app, and it seems to have worked! Only had time to test the song I posted above, but I’ll give a few more tracks a listen on my drive home later today. Will reply to the thread with an update later, but hopefully that did the trick!
Alright…clearing cache didn’t work. Just drove home from work and the music was still skipping all over the place, just in different places than it used to.
Tested a handful of files outside of Plex, and there is no corruption of anything I played. Just downloaded PlexAmp on my work PC, and everything plays fine. No skipping. Just tried deleting and re-downloaded PlexAmp for my iPhone, and every single song skips.
I am having the same issue (small skips ahead occurring during playback) on Plexamp and iOS 26 (updated to iOS 26.0.1 this morning to see if that might help, but problem is continuing). No such issue with the same tracks using Plexamp on my Windows desktop.

I’m experiencing the same issue to all music tracks (mp3, flac, wma). Wasn’t there before. Same playlist. I haven’t use Plexamp for around a month time though. In the server dashboard, it display Audio (stereo) - Direct Play.
On the same phone, using Samsung Internet Browser to access Plex Web player, no issue. Dashboard also display Audio (stereo) - Direct Play.
Btw, this is unconfirmed, but I think if I’m in the same LAN (eg, I’m connected to my home WIFI), the issue away, but I need to uninstall Plexamp and reinstall to clear all cache. Clearing cache in the app doesn’t work. When playing this way, the server Dashboard just state Audio (stereo), The Direct Play is not there.
I’ve been having this exact same issue since Sunday. It only seems to affect music that’s been transcoded by Plex and it effects EVERY track that is transcoded. In every track I’ve tested so far, the first half second of song seems to be missing and the track skips a few seconds ahead frequently during playback. The skipped parts aren’t transient or random - I can seek to the exact parts where the songs skip. It’s as if multiple half-seconds of data are missing throughout each track. Like the above user, the Plex web dashboard shows that the tracks are being direct played in FLAC, even though the tracks have been transcoded into Opus. This issue does not occur when playing the original files directly either through Plex on the web or a different music player. Deleting and re-installing the app has not fixed the issue - it actually made it worse because before re-installing, I had a large cache of songs that had been transcoded from FLAC to Opus before the issue started, but now anytime Plex transcodes a track, the transcode is corrupted.
I did some testing with another iOS called Prism which is a music player that works with Plex libraries. It had no issues when playing transcoded tracks. It transcodes in MP3, as opposed to Opus, which Plexamp uses.
That’s just when I first noticed it. Looking through the logs on my server I see it updated to 1.43.0.10162 on Sep 26. I’m gonna reload a snapshot of my server and see if the same thing happens on an older version of PMS.
I reverted back to 1.42.2.10156 then uninstalled and reinstalled Plexamp on my iPhone. I’ve been listening to transcoded music for about 15 minutes and haven’t heard any skips. Looks like in my case the issue was with 1.43.0.10162
