Music smart playlist from folder

Hi, i’m trying to make an smart music playlist from folder, but i’m lost even i have read some webs about that, i got installed in my synology nas, also in android and in w10, thanks a lot and sorry if is wrong thread

Open Advanced Filters and change the filter to Folder. Save as Smart Playlist.

Hi, thanks a lot, i will try at home, even i feel is the way i have use, it takes all the song from the music folder, instead the folder i want,
don’t work

as you see in the capture i can’t put anything on the empty place that says sense opcions, then i can’t select the folder where the music is, maybe track source is not the right to choice from that list?

thanks again

Can you advise where that save as smart playlist option is? I can change the filter to artist, album, track and still see the save as button but when I switch to folders it resets the view

You can do it under Advanced Filters;

This is filtered based on artist not on the folder? Is there a way to create a filter based on a specific folder in the music directory?

Click the drop down and change it.

This is what I am saying in my screenshot above, if I change the filter to “Folders”, I no longer have the “save as button” available
.

I have the same question:
How to make a smart playlist based on a folder the files are stored in? Cannot get this done?

My experience is the same as those above - while in the Folders view, there is no way to select directories to add to any playlist, smart or regular. If you navigate far enough into the folders such that individual tracks are listed, you can select and mass-select (shift + click) the tracks and add them to a playlist. This can work, but is incredibly tedious and inefficient for building a playlist based on tracks that are already co-located in a set of genre directories, which is how many people like to organize their content. Plex needs to add support for building from directory structures, either in the Folders view or as one of the search parameters in Smart Playlists.

In the past there was a hacky way to get around this - using a third-party script to take the file listings from a *.m3u and force them into an existing Plex playlist. But I think it is no longer maintained and doesn’t work with the current version of sqlite that Plex uses. Either way, it’s really problematic that users have to jump through these hoops to support something that has been common for 30-some years.
