Started in the last week, I’ll sit down for the evening, watch some TV Shows and then put some music on, but the music is silent, despite ‘playing’.
Then occasionally I’ll start a TV Show and it will be silent, despite playing.
In both cases, I’ll restart the Shield and once it comes back it’s fine.
Anyone out there experiencing similar issues?
I absolutely am, though I hadn’t noticed it with TV shows, only music. But it happens exactly like you describe. I’m wondering if this thread would have been better in the Android TV app forum instead of the Linux server forum.
See, now you say it like that, it makes perfect sense LOL. Can a Forum MOD please move this to the Android TV Forum please?
I have exactly the same issue.
Also, the interface is unintelligible with buttons that I can’t figure out. But that’s another issue.
I am also having the same problem. Started happening a few updates back (updates on the shield tv Plex app) and it’s rather annoying. In order to fix it I double press the home button and then close Plex. Sometimes that still won’t fix it and I have to force close Plex and then it will work again.
The issue appeared to disappear, but it is back, although only seeing it with music and I can usually hit NEXT and the next song can be hard, then hit PREVIOUS and you can hear the first one.
Still a pain though.
Same here. New customer, this is the first time I’ve tried to play music on the shield. No sound. Reboot, you say? Ok will try. Just spent a half hour poking at audio settings before searching the forum. probably just go back to kodi to play music.
I’m getting the feeling that this plex android-tv app is basically unsupported (the UI looks 10 years outdated) and we’re supposed to just treat the shield as a chromecast device only.
