My account has the incorrect email address on it

I have been trying to reach a human about trying to get my account corrected or deleted but I have been very unsuccessful.

Is there some place or someone I can reach that can help with this issue?

I do not have the password for this account. Therefore, I am not able to update the email address. If I request to update the password, it simply sends a reset to the incorrect address. That is my conundrum. I can not do one, without the other.

I started a new account because I was planning to delete the old account but I, again, need to have the password to do so. Once I have my new account ready to go, I can move my friends over to the new account. Until then, there is this random email that is locking my out.

There’s no alternative support/contact.
You should be able to change the e-mail address of your account in the account settings, e.g. in the web app:

  1. Open https://app.plex.tv/desktop/#!/settings/account (Settings > Account)
  2. Click the Edit link next to the Email Address attribute (or click on that box)
  3. Enter the new e-mail address
  4. Enter your account password (if you’re using MFA, you’ll also be required to enter a MFA verification code)
  5. Click Save Changes

Keep in mind that you cannot immediately reuse an e-mail address that had need associated to a different account. Those are usually locked for about a month.

You could try reaching out to https://www.plex.tv/contact/?option=plex-pass-billing … but they’ll probably need evidence that „you are you“. Forgetting a password and not having access to the related mailbox is indeed quite a pain.

Yeah, apparently someone with the email “nabilislamyo@gmail.com” got into my account and locked me out. I am able to remove my server and my friends from it so now it is just a basic account.

I ended up buying a new lifetime pass for my new account and moved my friends over. Everything is rebuilt, I was also able to take my original User Name with me.

My new account has the TWO-FACTOR AUTHENTICATION enabled so this shouldn’t be an issue in the future. So one day of inconvenience but everything should be fine now.
