My current feedback on Android app

  • It takes extra clicks to get to my libraries. I’d like them front and center. I don’t think my family members will find my libraries easily.
  • The app experience (scrolling, starting play, navigating back) is way more sluggish on my system (Oneplus Nord 4) than the main app.
  • Subtitles can only be displayed with a black background - that’s a serious regression.
  • Movie or Show overview page is missjng information: which subtitles are available and what codec is the file in
  • PiP-player is often just black with only the sound playing
  • In portrait mode, the player controls (fwd, bwd, subtitle button) are overlapping. I often watch in portrait mode when my head is lying down and I want to multitask.
  • “lock to landscape” disabled setting does not stick
  • I’m missing the “stats for nerds” option to debug why a file is playing in a lower than expected resolution
  • My overall feeling is that screen real estate that used to have information is being sacrificed for big art / posters. I get that you want this to look nice, but feel like we’re losing too much.

For the love of all that’s holy, don’t just replace the main Plex app with this on a certain day - several users here have already mentioned Sonos, we don’t want that kind of debacle.

I appreciate the opportunity for us to test drive this new experience, but feel like there’s still a lot of work to be done for this to be a drop-in replacement for the main app. At this point, I would be very disappointed if this became my Plex experience.

Hoping my feedback is taken into consideration! I’m not trying to be harsh!
